Commonly called Virginia Spiderwort.

A wonderful and reliable native plant for your shade garden. Native to most of the northeast US, Tradescantia virginiana is an herbaceous, clump-forming perennial that features an abundance of small, 3 sided purple flowers atop thick grass-like foliage. It thrives in part shade to full shade, making it a great choice to add spring color to your shade garden, especially if you are looking to add pretty natives to your yard.

When the stems of the plant are cut, they release a thick secretion that hardens over time and becomes similar to the texture of a spiderweb, hence its common name.

Arrives to you in a quart-sized pot.
