Rhododendron canescens

An upright, deciduous azaela that's native to the southeastern US. Noted for its large, light link flowers that appear in spring. In the wild, you'll find these growing in the mountain slopes and balds of the Appalachian mountains from Pennsylvania to Georgia. Flowers are non fragrant, about 2" long and grow in clusters of 5-10. This species is an important parent plant of many commercialized/hybridized azaleas sold today.

Does best when planted in full sun, and even better in a south-facing area or in a protected area. Acidic soil will help its success as well.

Arrives to you in a 1 gallon pot.
