Stachys byzantina 'Silver Carpet'

Commonly known as Lambs Ears, this herbaceous perennial is valued for its unique, thick, soft silvery-green foliage. Dense rosettes of foliage spread by runners and will form a rapidly spreading mat roughly 4-6" off the ground. 'Silver Carpet' is most notable for rarely producing flowers. 

Plant in full sun with average, well-drained garden soil. Deer, drought, dry and rocky soil, air pollution and black walnut tolerant make this a great choice for the garden. 

Perfect for providing texture and color to mixed garden beds or containers. Effective as a groundcover, when used in small areas and to edge flower beds. Companions in the garden include Nepeta, Achillea, Salvia, Sedum, Perovskia and Liatris.
