Spiraea latifolia, commonly known as broadleaf meadowsweet, is a hardy, deciduous shrub native to eastern North America. It typically grows 3–5 feet tall, with upright branches and broad, serrated leaves. In summer, it produces showy clusters of small, fragrant white to pale-pink flowers that attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. Its dense growth and seasonal blooms make it a valuable addition to native plant gardens, borders, and naturalized landscapes.

To grow Spiraea latifolia, select a site in full sun to partial shade with moist, well-drained soil. While it prefers consistent moisture, it can adapt to a range of soil types, including clay. Plant in spring or fall, spacing shrubs 3–5 feet apart. Pruning after flowering helps maintain shape and encourages new growth. Mulching conserves soil moisture and reduces weeds. This low-maintenance shrub is cold-hardy and tolerant of varying conditions, making it a reliable, wildlife-friendly choice for gardens.
