Silver Maple gets its name from the silvery color on the undersides of it's leaves. Its native to the eastern US, and is actually one of the largest native deciduous trees in the area, growing to 50-80' tall and 35-70' wide. Because it naturally thrive sin wet areas, it will perform well in areas of you yard that are more saturated than others, however it will grow well in most soil conditions. Its a fast-growing tree that has often been used to line streets, due to it's growing speed and overall vasal shape.

Silver maple makes an excellent shade or canopy tree.
