Sempervivum 'Carmen'

Commonly known as Hens-and-chicks, it is one of the most familiar and easiest to grow perennials. Fleshy leaves form a low clump with "babies" forming around the mother in the center. 'Carmen' has emerald green rosettes with bright red tips. Leaves turn a violet-purple in winter. Pink flowers arrive in summer.

Plant in full sun to partial shade with normal to sandy soil. Becomes extremely drought tolerant once established. To start new plants, remove a few smaller rosettes and place them on the soil surface in the place you would like them to grow. These plants are rabbit resistant and can tolerate some light foot traffic.

An excellent choice for containers, rock gardens, along the edge of the garden bed and when mass planted as a groundcover. Artemisia, Armeria and Lewisia make great companions in the garden.

Arrives to you in a quart-sized container.
