Polygonatum odoratum

This elegant and sophisticated native is perfect for the cooler, shaded areas of your garden. In late spring, its arching branches are adorned with oval white blooms. Flowers have a sweet, lily-like fragrance. Flowers bloom late spring to early summer (May-June). Flowers are followed by attractive hanging blue-black berries, in fall, which hang downward from the leaf axils.

It features showy light green leaves edged with white. New stems are tinged with maroon red. Perfect to plant in shaded borders or mass planted for a taller groundcover.
