Phlox divaricata ‘May Breeze'

‘May Breeze’ is a great addition to those wanting that wild meadow or cottage garden look. This garden phlox is perfect in shaded perennial borders, containers, rock gardens, and flower beds. This Phlox can also make for a lovely showy groundcover when mass planted.  Phlox is a butterfly, bee, and hummingbird magnet! 

Phlox divaricata ‘May Breeze’ flourishes in bright shade to full shade with moist rich well-drained soil.  Plants tolerate clay loam, sand, and are fairly pest resistant. 

This selection has fragrant starry flowers of very pale blue over a mound of green foliage, the blooms seeming white from a distance in spring to summer. Excellent vigor and disease resistance and a good choice for regions with hot and humid summers. Spreads to form a small patch, and divisions can easily take in early fall. 

'May Breeze' will spread and fill in around bulbs and pairs well with Hellebore, Hostas, Carex, Heuchera, and Astilbe. 

TIP: Cut back after the first bloom to promote the second round of growth. Do not prune in fall, clean up winter damage in spring.
