Phlox divaricata

Phlox divaricata is a great addition for those wanting that wild meadow or cottage garden look.  Blooming early spring, this native stands 9-12 inches tall and is most at home in a part shade to full shade location.

With moderate to moist soil conditions, this Woodland Phlox is a fragrant ground cover for your shade and woodland gardens. The light lavender/rose/violet/blue blooms look like little star clusters that hover over the bright green foliage. Phlox is a butterfly, bee, and hummingbird magnet!

This garden Phlox is perfect in perennial borders, containers, and flower beds to liven up spaces in your yard. A staple in the perennial garden, Phlox mixes well with other perennials and provides attractive, long summer blooms.

Phlox plays well with Lilies, Bee Balm, Rudbeckia, Shasta Daisies, Yarrow, Clematis, and Daylilies.

TIP:

Cut back after the first bloom to promote the second round of growth. Do not prune in fall, clean up winter damage in spring.
