Penstemon 'Midnight Masquerade'

Also known as Beardtongue, this hybrid Penstemon produces some of the darkest, richest burgundy foliage out there. In the summer, purplish black stems support the lush lavender and white blooms that are irresistible to pollinators.

Penstemon is generally deciduous or semi-evergreen in warmer climates and requires very little maintenance although you can prune the stems back in the early winter for a neater look. Mass plant for an easy border or feature one in a small pollinator garden in full sun with well-draining soil. Once established they are drought tolerant.
