Pennisetum rubrum

Pennisetum Rubrum is a sun-loving, heat tolerant fall grass that features deep red/burgundy foliage and tan catkins on stems that can grow up to 3 feet tall!  Expect plumes from mid-summer through to fall.

Often used as an annual grass for containers, rubrum can also be planted into the ground and will likely return as a perennial grass next year.
