Magnolia grandiflora 

Magnolias 'Bracken's Brown Beauty' is a broadleaf, evergreen variety of magnolia, and is actually one of the most winter hardy varieties of magnolia available. Leathery, evergreen leaves are about 7 inches long, featuring rich camel suede-like texture on the back, and a deep green glossy texture on the front. Fragrant, cup-like white flowers bloom to about 5" across starting and spring and lasting well into summer.

You can expect this variety of magnolia to grow to about 30' high and 15-20' wide. It's more compact than other popular cultivars sold commercially. Plant in full sun to part shade in average soil. Provides a lot of winter interest, and foliage can be cut for holiday displays.
