Lonicera sempervirens 'Major Wheeler'

'Major Wheeler' is a deciduous twining perennial honeysuckle vine. Gorgeous coral-red tubular flowers open on top of blue-green rounded leaves. This vigorous growing can reach heights of up to 6-10 feet! Blooms arrive from early summer to fall and give way to small bright red berries. 

Plant in fun sun to partial sun. Well-drained, moist, hummus-rich soil is preferred. Hummingbirds love the tubular flowers! This low maintenance vine is deer resistant and will gracefully climb trees in the woodland garden. Prune in late winter or early spring.

An excellent choice for growing on trellises, pergolas and fences. Other companions for the garden include Clematis and Hops, which are also twining vines. Echinacea, Butterfly Bush, Aster, Monarda and Asclepias also play nicely in the garden.
