Lonicera x heckrottii 'Gold Flame'

'Gold Flame' is a deciduous, twining, perennial honeysuckle vine. Gorgeous deep pink tubular flowers open with orange throats on top of blue-green oval leaves. This vigorous growing can reach heights of up to 10-15 feet! Blooms arrive from early summer to fall and give way to small bright red berries. *Berries are not edible.*

Plant in full sun to partial shade. Well-drained, moist, hummus-rich soil is preferred. Hummingbirds love the tubular flowers! This low maintenance vine has highly fragrant flowers and can be grown as a twining vine or pruned back for a more bush-like habit. Prune as needed to keep its shape. Deer resistant and generally disease and pest free.

'Gold Flame' is a Royal Horticulture Society's Award of Garden Merit winner. An excellent choice for growing on trellises, pergolas and fences. Other companions for the garden include Clematis and Hops, which are also twining vines.
