Add some unique texture and color to your sun garden with the blue cardinal flower as it is commonly know as. This native works well in borders and garden beds and is an excellent pollinator for butterflies and hummingbirds. Expect blooms from July to September. It’s important to note this plant cannot tolerate periods of drought and needs to be consistently watered. A good place to plant is in the low spots in your garden where water will run to and settle. Summer mulch will help with moisture retention. Arrives to you in a quart-sized pot, as shown in photo 3.
