Lobelia cardinalis

Commonly referred to as the Cardinal Flower, this is a native pollinator that we think is a must have in your garden. Gorgeous scarlet red tubular flowers grown on a somewhat short-lived, clump forming perennial. Makes an excellent pollinator for butterflies and hummingbirds.

It’s important to note this plant cannot tolerate periods of drought and needs to be constantly watered. A good place to plant is in the low spots in your garden where water will run to and settle. Summer mulch will help with moisture retention. Perfect for woodland gardens, wet meadows and along the banks of streams/ponds.

Native to the Americas.
