Cherokee lettuce features medium-sized heads of thick, crisp leaves that are dark red. It is moderately slow-growing and heat tolerant. Has an upright frame that creates less breakage, not as delicate as butterleaf. Cherokee Lettuce maintains a crisp, sweet flavor into the warmer months and will not become bitter in the heat. Can be harvested over a long period.

Plant densely for best results, spacing transplants about 8-12″ apart.
