Japanese maples (Acer palmatum) are renowned for their delicate, lacy foliage and vibrant seasonal colors. Native to Japan, Korea, and China, they come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and leaf colors, from deep reds and purples to bright greens and yellows. These trees are prized in gardens for their graceful form and the striking beauty they offer, particularly in the fall when their leaves turn brilliant hues. Japanese maples thrive in shaded areas with well-drained soil and are often used in bonsai or as ornamental features in landscaping. Their slow-growing nature and compact size make them ideal for smaller gardens and urban spaces.

Sango Kaku is a coral-bark variety, featuring bright red/coral bark that is magnificent in the winter, especially in snowy settings. Leaves emerge in spring as bright green and quickly turn to a bright chartruese color that turns more gold as the season goes on. Sango kaku offers a tremendous golden fall display.
