Iris fulva

Commonly known as Copper Iris, this native features gorgeous coppery colored, beardless, crestless blooms. Flowers arrive in late spring (May - June) atop green foliage that is upright and sword-shaped. Fun fact: blooms are reportedly pollinated by hummingbirds. Received the Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society for its outstanding qualities.

Plant in full sun to part shade with average to wet garden soil as this iris is often found in wetlands and even standing water. Perfect for planting in wet areas, such as, bogs, water gardens, along streams and low-lying areas where water collects. Can be planted in borders and beds as long as there is consistent moisture.
