Heuchera 'Black Forest Cake'

If you're looking to add contrast and depth to your garden, here is your answer. 'Black Forest Cake' offers silky, rich, ruffled deep chocolate colored leaves. It grows vigorously to form a full mound and is topped with cherry red flowers in late spring to early summer. More sun will draw out the deep coloring without inducing silvering. Excellent for borders, ground coverage, and mass planting. When grown in masses or used as a bedding plant, individual plants should be spaced approximately 12 inches apart.

This plant performs well in both full sun and part shade. Prefers an average-moist watering level, be mindful to not let it dry out during the heat of summer. This is a relatively low-maintenance plant and should be cut back in late fall in preparation for winter. It is a good choice for attracting butterflies and hummingbirds.
