Adiantum pedatum

This native perennial features beautiful, delicate foliage that grows in a clumping habit. Maidenhair fern spreads slowly through branching rhizomes that will eventually lead to large colonies over time.

A great option to plant in shaded woodland, native or rock gardens. Excellent for naturalizing on shaded hillsides, or any protected shady area, this fern thrives in well-drained to slightly damp soil. If the soil becomes too dry the plant can go dormant and then return when there is enough moisture.

Compliments large leaved perennials such as wild ginger, hellebores and hostas, as well as spring flowering bulbs. Native to North America.
