Opuntia humifusa, commonly known as the Eastern Prickly Pear, is a hardy cactus native to North America. It is known for its flat, rounded pads and vibrant yellow flowers that bloom in summer. The plant produces sweet, edible fruit called "tunas" which are a bright red or purple when ripe. Opuntia humifusa thrives in well-drained, sandy or rocky soil and prefers full sunlight.
