Dianthus hybrida Scent First® 'Coral Reef'

Also known as a "Carnation" this variety of Dianthus features large, deep-coral double flowers with elegant white picotee edges and silver-blue foliage with lengthy blooming periods. Blooms are often two inches in diameter on top of sturdy stems. Dianthus makes a great cut flower and is ideal for containers, garden borders, and modern landscapes. A cottage garden is not complete without several Dianthus. They also have a wonderful spicy-clove aroma! 

Plant in full sun with well-drained garden soil. These beauties are heat tolerant, deer resistant, and attractive to pollinators! Remove spent flowers to encourage more buds to form. Pruning plants back hard after blooming will encourage them to survive for years. 

Plant in the garden with Geraniums, Petunias, Pansies, Echinacea, Penstemon, Rudbeckia, Agastache, Iris, and Salvia as companions.
