Sambucus canadensis

This deciduous elderberry shrub features white flowers that bloom in June and then give way to small deep-purple berries in late summer and fall. The berries are perfect for making jams and juices and are often considered a superfood. Their feather-like compact leaves cover the shrub to provide wonderful coverage and nesting sites for songbirds.

This shrub is self-pollinating but does well when planted with another bush close by. While it prefers moist areas, it is quite tolerant of a wide range of soils in full to partial sun. Native to the northeast US. Arrives to you in a 2 gallon pot, approximately about 2-3' tall.

*Please note: Our native plants are field-grown and untreated with pesticides or fertilizers (how it should be!) Because of this, some varieties may show spots, browning or holes in the foliage during the fall months. Our plants have been organically treated if needed and are healthy and strong.
