Epimedium × warleyense ‘Orange Queen’

Also known as Barrenwort, this semi-evergreen perennial brings warm color to shade gardens with its coppery-orange spring flowers that appear to float above attractive foliage. Blooms emerge in mid to late spring, creating a light, airy display over fresh green leaves that often show reddish or bronze tones in cooler weather. It works beautifully as a feature in woodland gardens or when mass planted as a low, spreading groundcover that also helps with erosion control.

Because Epimedium naturally grows as an understory woodland plant, it prefers shade to part shade and soil rich in organic matter. Once established, it is drought tolerant, deer and rabbit resistant, and very low maintenance, making it ideal for dry shade areas.
