Hydrangea paniculata 'Limelight'

Call this one a late bloomer but it is worth the wait when you see its huge football shaped blooms that come in white and are highlighted with light celadon green. Blooms appear later in the summer on new growth and you won't want to prune them until spring so that you can enjoy the fall progression of these gigantic blooms as they fade off into pink, red and burgundy and hang on well beyond first frost.

Limelight is a hardy variety that grows well throughout North America. Make this the centerpiece of your cottage garden or mass plant them as a lush  hedge. These stunners  love water but well-draining soil is key to their success. In colder zones, they prefer more sunlight but in our area they do best in partial sunlight with less than 6 hours of direct sun per day.
