Commonly known as Cardinal Flower. Tall spikes of vibrant burgundy, jewel-toned blooms tower over dense deep green foliage. Hummingbirds and butterflies will flock to this beauty! Mass plant for striking borders or use as a feature in small pollinator gardens or containers.

'Starship Burgundy' produces more blooms over a longer period of time than other varieties. Earlier to bloom than other Cardinal Flowers, flowers may appear as early as mid to late June. Very showy in and out of bloom. Plants produce many flower stems that are upright and strong. Deer and rabbit resistant.

Easy to grow in moist rich soil with full to part sun.  Prefers higher temperatures, humidity, and moisture. Perfect for naturalizing in rain gardens, cottage gardens, and pollinator gardens. Fantastic in containers, alone, or with other plants. When planting with other plants use it in the center as the “thriller.”
