Lobelia cardinalis

Lobelia White Cardinal is a striking perennial known for its tall spikes of pure white, tubular flowers that bloom in mid to late summer. Standing 3–4 feet tall, it creates a dramatic vertical accent in garden beds and borders. The nectar-rich flowers attract hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees, making it an excellent choice for pollinator-friendly gardens. Its bright blooms contrast beautifully against dark green foliage and pair well with other summer perennials.

To grow Lobelia White Cardinal, choose a location in full sun to partial shade with rich, moist, well-drained soil. This plant thrives in consistently damp conditions, making it ideal for rain gardens or near ponds and streams. Plant in spring or early fall, spacing 12–18 inches apart. Deadheading encourages continued blooming, while mulching helps retain soil moisture. In colder climates, protect crowns in winter. With proper care, it provides elegant, wildlife-attracting beauty year after year.
