Carex pensylvanica

Commonly called Pennsylvania Sedge, this native grass has finely textured green blades that are perfect for the shaded areas of your garden. Clumps grow to about 8" tall and offer insignificant green flowers in late spring (May).

Plant in part shade to full shade as this grass will do well in shady woodland areas. Most sedges prefer moist soil, but this variety likes average to dry moisture soils. Deer resistant and attractive to butterflies, this sedge is perfect for helping with erosion control.

Wonderful when mass planted along paths, under shade trees or as a groundcover. Use in naturalized areas and as an under planting for shade perennials. Plant with Heuchera, Iris, Tiarella, and Phlox divaricata as companions in the landscape.

Native to Eastern North America.

Arrives to you in a quart-sized pot.
