This violet prefers partial shade to full shade and moist, well-drained soil. It is exceptionally drought tolerant once established, making it an excellent choice for woodland gardens or shaded borders where other plants struggle. 

Great for groundcover, rock gardens, shaded borders, underplanting shrubs, and containers. Its compact habit and ornamental foliage make it especially effective beneath trees, along pathways, or tucked into cool, dark corners of perennial beds.
