Vernonia Plum Peachy is a stunning native perennial valued for its vibrant late-summer color and pollinator appeal. Also known as ironweed, this compact selection features rich, plum-purple flower clusters that bloom from mid to late summer, creating a bold splash of color when many other plants begin to fade. Growing about 3 to 4 feet tall, Plum Peachy has strong, upright stems and narrow, dark green leaves that stay attractive throughout the season. Its nectar-rich blooms attract butterflies, bees, and other beneficial insects, making it an excellent choice for pollinator and native plant gardens.

To grow Vernonia Plum Peachy, plant it in full sun with moist, well-draining soil. While it tolerates average garden conditions, it thrives best in evenly moist environments. Once established, it’s moderately drought-tolerant and requires little maintenance. Cut back old stems in late winter or early spring to encourage vigorous new growth and abundant summer blooms.
