Penstemon barbatus 'Pristine Blue'

Penstemon Pristine Blue is a captivating perennial known for its elegant, tubular flowers in shades of soft lavender-blue with white throats. Blooming profusely from late spring through midsummer, it attracts hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies with its nectar-rich blossoms. The upright, compact habit—typically reaching 18 to 24 inches tall—makes it an excellent choice for borders, pollinator gardens, and mixed perennial plantings. Its glossy green foliage provides a fresh backdrop that enhances the luminous blooms.

To grow Penstemon Pristine Blue, plant it in full sun and well-draining soil. This variety thrives in moderately fertile, slightly alkaline conditions and dislikes wet or heavy clay soils. Once established, it’s drought-tolerant and requires minimal care. Deadheading spent flowers encourages continued blooming and helps maintain a tidy appearance. In colder regions, a light mulch in winter protects the roots. With its vibrant color and easy nature, Pristine Blue adds long-lasting charm to sunny gardens.

Arrives to you in a gallon-sized pot.
