Rosa ‘Quicksilver Arborose’

The eye-catching lavender double blooms on this climbing rose make it a must have for collectors but it is easy enough for beginners too. On the smaller side for a climber, this beauty does well on trellises in smaller gardens and can even grace the patio in a large container.

Experts advise against pruning climbing roses during the first two years. Once the plant is well-established, prune the longest canes liberally to encourage fuller growth but the best blooms appear on old growth so pruning should be done in the early spring after leaf buds begin to pop.

Well-draining soil amended with loamy compost and full sun will enhance growth and disease resistance.
