Viola striata 

Commonly known as the Striped Cream Violet, this classic viola gets its name from the pale violet-white flowers with a purple veined lower petal. This low growing, nearly evergreen perennial produces flowers that sit atop heart-shaped foliage. Its clumps of attractive dark green leaves can spread to make an attractive ground cover. Expect blooms from spring through to early summer (April - June).

Plant in part shade locations with moisture retentive, well-drained soils. Does not tolerate drought or hot humid summer conditions. 

Use as a ground cover in part shade areas of rock gardens, woodland gardens and border fronts. Mixes well with Narcissus, Tulips, Ajuga and Dicentra in the garden.
