Veronica umbrosa 'Venture Blue'

Commonly known as Speedwell, this semi-evergreen perennial is a good balance of small-medium size, deep-blue flowers with white eyes. Neat tidy plants have glossy foliage and will fill in without overpowering. Expect blooms beginning in mid-late spring, is very long-blooming, and mildew resistant.

Plant in full sun with medium moisture, well-drained soil. A great choice as a groundcover or naturalized area. Once established, this plant can be drought and heat tolerant. Remove spent blooms to encourage new flowers. Deer and rabbit resistant, as well as, adored by butterflies and hummingbirds. 

Best when mass planted,  'Venture Blue' is a great choice for the edges of beds, in rock gardens, and in containers. Also a good choice for underplanting shrubs and spring bulbs. Plant with Carex, Lamium, and Muscari as companions.
