Vernonia noveboracensis

Commonly called ironweed or New York ironweed, this hardy perennial is known for it's "iron-like" plant qualities. Many tiny, fluffy, deep purple flowers bloom atop sturdy stems. Expect blooms from late summer to fall (August - September). Flowers fade to a rusty color and offer rusty colored seeds for great fall interest.

A low maintenance plant, ironweed works well at the back of borders, in cottage or wildflower gardens and in meadows or naturalized areas. Native to the eastern and southeastern United States.

Arrives to you in a 1 gallon pot.
