Thymus coccineus Group

Commonly known as Creeping Thyme, the Coccineus Group is a low growing, woody based perennial that is primarily used as a groundcover. May also be called mother-of-thyme, red creeping thyme or wild thyme. Foliage is fragrant, but not generally used for culinary purposes. Tiny, tubular, lavender-red flowers arrive in summer.

Plant in full sun with dry to medium, well-drained soils. Deer, drought and air pollution tolerant. Bees and butterflies are attracted to the flowers.

Best when planted in small areas or to fill in between stepping stones. Will sprawl out when planted on rock walls or over ledges. Nice when planted in containers, at the edge of garden beds and in rock gardens. Lavender makes a nice garden companion.

Arrives to you in a pint-sized container.
