Thalictrum 'Black Stockings'

Commonly called meadow rue, this heavy-flowering perennial, with blooms like puffy pink clouds, from spring through midsummer. These flowers attract pollinators and stand atop strong upright stems that rise from ferny foliage.

Despite the delicate appearance, it is fairly tolerant of warm, humid summers. Blooms the first year, but much better after a winter chill. Clumps may be easily divided in spring or fall. Stems are deep red, almost black, hence the name.

A great option to plant in borders or mass planted to get a spectacular effect when in bloom.
