Syringa vulgaris 'Monge'

Full size, reddish-purple flowers are fragrant and large while the shrub has an upright habit. Expect flowers in late spring that last 3-4 weeks when in bloom.

Plant in full sun with moist, well-drained garden soil. This low maintenance shrub has great foliage, is attractive to bees and makes a beautifully fragrant cut flower. 

An excellent choice for borders and beds. Use as a foundation planting, a flowering hedge or in your cottage garden. Phlox, hardy geranium and clematis are all nice combination choices in the garden bed.
