It is highly tolerate of wet soil as it's native to lowland swamps, making it a good choice for rain gardens, wet yards, or areas with pooling water. Plant swamp azalea in an area that received enough water to keep it happy. The wetter, the better! Acidic soil will help this azalea thrive. Azaleas typically require some shade to thrive and too much sun will damage the plant, so ensure it's planting location will treat it well and keep it cool. Tolerate of rabbits and flooding.
