Solidago sphacelata 'Golden Fleece'

Most commonly known as Golden Fleece Goldenrod, this perennial features an abundance of yellow flowers on multi-branched stems. The small flowers appear from late summer to late fall in a cluster near the top of the plant and bloom later than most Goldenrods. 

Plant in full sun with well-drained soils. It's not fussy about the soil it is in and can become drought tolerant once established. Easy to grow and low maintenance, Golden Fleece can reach 1-2 feet tall. Bees, butterflies and hummingbirds are all attracted to this Goldenrod.

Goldenrod can be aggressive and therefore may not be suitable for small woodland gardens. A great choice for cottage and butterfly gardens, as well as, prairie and meadow gardens. Plant with Helenium, Perovskia, Crocosmia and Sedum as companions in the garden.
