Commonly called 'Fire Pink'
Silene virginica is a native wildflower that's a close relative of the other silent varieties, such as 'short and sweet' and 'Clifford Moore.' It's commonly found in meadows and prairies throughout the central and northeast US. Its noted for its small branching habit and profuse small, red 5-petaled flowers with serrated edges. Excellent when used in a woodland garden, wildflower patch or pollinator garden.
Mature plants reach up to 2' tall and wide. Prefers sun but can also tolerate shade. Arrives to you in a quart-sized container.
