Quercus imbricaria

Shingle Oak is a native, deciduous tree and is a member of the Red Oak family. A true native Pennsylvania tree, It's noted for its narrow, elongated glossy dark green leaves. Leaves mature to yellow and shades of red in the fall, creating a nice fall display. After it's second year, it produces acorns that are a valuable food source to much wildlife.

Plant Shingle Oak in a sunny spot in nearly any soil type. It will thrive in average soil but can tolerate dry soils and drought. Great when used to create shade.
