Native to much of the northeast and Midwest, Lythrum alatum is a naturally occurring wildflower commonly found in wetlands and prairies across much of the US. Its noted for its fast growing habit, ability to thrive in wet areas, and its ability to attract a plethora of pollinators and native insects. 

Plant Lythrum alatum in full sun. It can tolerate some dry soil, but prefers high moisture, so it would work best in a retention area or rain garden. Grows to about 3 feet tall and wide and Blooms from June to September.
