Liriope muscari 'Purple Explosion™'

Mostly grown for its attractive foliage, 'Purple Explosion™' forms a dense clump of narrow, arching, dark green leaves. Blooming in late summer to fall, spikes of clustered, small deep purple flowers appear adding a nice pop of color to your garden. Flowers resemble grape hyacinth (Muscari), hence the latin name. 

Plant in full sun to partial sun with moist, well-drained soil. Can tolerate full shade, but foliage will be more elongated and will spread much slower. Deer and rabbit resistant, as well as, drought tolerant once established.

Perfect to use as a showy groundcover and creates a dramatic, fluffy effect when mass planted under trees and shrubs. Use along pathways and borders and in narrow spaces. Autumn Fern, Ajuga, Colchicum and Ophiopogon make great companion plantings.
