Leucothoe fontanesiana 'Scarletta'
Commonly called Drooping Laurel. It's a dropping evergreen shrub that is native to most of the eastern US. Its prized for its colorful drooping leaves that grow a marbled green and orange during the growing season and fade to burgundy over the winter. Its winter color is sure to add drama and splashes of color to your winter garden.
Plant leucothoe scarletta in shady or partly shady area in average to wet soil. It will reach about 4 feet tall and wide. It's typically disease and pest free, making it a popular and reliable, yet sometimes hard-to-find choice in gardens.
