Leucojum aestivum

Known as Summer Snowflake, this bulbous perennial blooms in spring (April) and not summer as its common name suggests. White, nodding, bell-shaped flowers arise above dark green grass-like foliage. The tips of each petal are spotted with green. 

Plant in full sun to partial shade with well-drained soils. They will naturalize through bulb offsets and are best if left undisturbed once placed in the ground. Deer resistant and black walnut tolerant.

An excellent choice for underplanting of trees and shrubs. Best when mass planted for a more spectacular flowering presence. Recommended to plant at least 15 bulbs for dramatic effect. Hellebores, Dicentra, Tulips and Muscari make great companions in the garden.

Plant bulbs 3-4" deep and 4-6" apart.
