Leeks are the easy-to-grow cousin of the onion. They boast a sweet, mild flavor that is easier on the digestive system. Leeks hold their flavor in pretty, juicy stems that look similar to scallions. 'King Richard' is a beautiful full-sized leek that grows very straight with almost no bulbing. 

Harvest when white stems are around 1" in diameter, but you can really dig them up at any time and enjoy smaller leeks like scallions. Most notable for potato and leek soup, they are also excellent in quiche, steamed like asparagus or oven roasted.
