Incarvillea delavayi

Commonly known as Hardy Gloxinia or Garden Gloxinia, this perennial plant features beautiful pink trumpet flowers over deep green foliage. Expect blooms from late spring to mid-summer. 

Not always the easiest plant to grow, Garden Gloxinia prefers full sun to part shade with normal to sandy soil. Excellent soil drainage for the fleshy taproot is a must, which is why this perennial does well in rock gardens and raised beds. 

Remove spent flowers to encourage more blooms. Adding a winter mulch is also highly recommended. Makes an excellent cut flower and is deer resistant.
