Commonly called Japanese Holly or Box Leaf Holly. Ilex 'Helleri' is a compact, evergreen foundation shrub thats very common in gardens. Its grows in a rounded, even shape and is great when used for creating form and foundation in your garden. Like boxwood, it can be pruned and shaped into a hedge. Leaves are evergreen, small and oval shaped. They are dark green and semi-glossy. This is a dwarf form of Japanese holly, reaching only 5-6 feet in mature size if not pruned.
